Hi, Just got a pair of Carl Zeiss Jena 6X30 with serial number 1484950. There appear to be a pair of similar binoculars currently offered on Ebay ( from Poland ) for $3500? My first problem was they appear to be in such wonderful condition for their age, I could not believe they were so old, almost like they had never been used, just taken in and out of the case from time to time? Secondly, from what I could learn on the internet, they are pre 1905 as the logo on the binoculars is written in 'cursive' script? I found a study carried out by Thomas Antoniades and according to his Table No.ģ the last serial number for this series ( Jagdglas 7.5 ) should be 8882? My pair carry a higher number? I understand that, if genuine, they could be quite valuable. I did a little research on them and I am not sure what I have got so I joined this forum to pick a few brains and try and ascertain when they were actually made and what I should do with them. Hello, My name is David Harrison and I have inherited what appear to be an old pair of ' bent shoulder ' binoculars.
